Ellie’s Trails Carolina Testimony

I was sent there after years and year s of trying to get my depression managed. It was my parents last resort. They believed it would help. While I was there I witnessed many extremely distressing things. Such as: one girls hip would pop in and out of place most hikes causing excruciating pain and even more damage, yet they made her hike still. One girl would go around looking and even touching other girls, to have nothing be done about it. There were nights where most all the girls would complain of hunger. It was also completely normalized to pee your pants there because we had scheduled bathroom breaks after chugging water all day. The staff were also extremely disheartening. They would laugh in my face while sobbing and hyperventilating. Our whole group one time was on watch because all of us were self harming. One construction man even left a razor blade on the home grounds. I now have reoccurring nightmares about the woods and being trapped there. I never got the help I needed. In fact they seemingly did a lot more damage. I don’t want any other person to have to go what I went through there. That wasn’t even most of it.
