Anonymous’ Forest Ridge Youth Services Testimony

I was in Forest Ridge Youth Services in Grover Iowa in 2016-2017 on two separate occasions, both times in shelter care for 30 days. When I was there lived through some of the most horrific things I have ever seen. I was no stranger to the group home/ rehabilitation industry so by this point I had already seen a lot of craziness in my life but nothing compared to forest ridge. I had been put into a improper restraint by a male staff where he held me on his lap with my hands on his penis while I cried and screamed telling him that I had already been sexually assaulted begging him to stop, and all he said was that my screams just were going to make it last longer. After the restraint ended they put me in a group of residential girls and allowed them to make fun of me and tell me that my life wasn’t bad and that I needed to just get over it. This is only the beginning and don’t even chip away at my time at Forest Ridge.
