TTI Community Groups
For survivors, allies, and advocates, there are a number of online spaces available where members can engage with each other as well as stay up to date on the latest news in the movement.
This is a group started by Unsilenced for survivors and allies of the Troubled Teen Industry (TTI) to come together to advocate for the collective movement to stop institutional child abuse. Unsilenced is a non-profit organization dedicated to stopping institutional child abuse happening within the Troubled Teen Industry by empowering survivors and advocates to promote lasting social change.
The Unsilenced Impact App
This online community comprises of a powerful network of survivors, allies, and professionals dedicated to ending institutional child abuse in the TTI. It offers resources and training for professional development; opportunities to engage in meaningful activism; connections to expert help, justice, and healing; and more.
Survivorland Facebook Community
An eclectic group of anti-Troubled Teen Industry voices dedicated to providing the safest place on the internet for all survivors of institutional abuse. Survivors are invited to use this space to share war stories; connect with long-lost friends; support and validate one another; laugh, cry, and reminisce; and share news about programs or themselves. Survivors are also welcomed to talk about projects, seek advice from fellow survivors, and teach one another the skills that it takes to go about living life after the TTI.
/troubledteens Reddit Community
A community of survivors and advocates who oppose the abusive TTI. Members seek to raise awareness and to change the law to protect the teenagers in these programs from harm.
Join this survivor Discord server to chat with fellow survivors of youth congregate care facilities including residential programs, behavior modification programs, religious programs, rehabs, boot camps, wilderness therapy, and other “treatments” sometimes referred to as the “Troubled Teen Industry.”
The TTI Survivor Facebook Community
A group for survivors of youth congregate care facilities designed to provide a space to break the silence and secrecy upon which many troubled teen programs rely. This group exists to allow survivors of any TTI program to connect and share their stories.
