Project Description

By Brian: 2006-2008

I was at Rancho Valmora for 18 months, class of 2008 so I was there 2006 to 2008. As bad as my PTSD has been and my desire to bury any memories related to the program, it’s been 17 years since I left and still see countless accounts of rampant abuse continuing to this day. If anything the industry has grown, potentially to a point of power in which it cannot be stopped conventionally, and through survivor’s voices alone can we make a difference and shed light on the fraud committed by any WWASP organizations or affiliates. I am looking for other victims of this program to start an awareness group and connect those in need of validation or even belief who still struggle with reintegration and worry they will not be taken seriously. If we can help each other move on from the trauma and stigma of Valmora while also getting the word out to current parents before they get sucked into the cycle of abuse and lies, it will have an effect on the money they rake in every month. Only by removing the demand can we hit these criminals and frauds where it hurts most for them, their wallets. This industry didn’t become worth billions due to an altruistic nature, it was greed, and in most cases the parents are victims as well, duped into pseudoscience socially proven to be not just ineffective and abusive, but also outrageously expensive. Meanwhile operating on a budget of 4.5$ per day per prisoner (student), or “Units” as they are so dehumanizingly referred to by staff and upper management. This was on a monthly cost to parents of 3 – 6 thousand a month, 99% of which was not spent on the children in question. Please reach out if you would like to discuss further or participate in a survivors group, a safe place with people who not only believe you but experienced similar circumstances at the hands of untrained, morally diseased individuals hell bent on making money even if it destroys lives, and destroys futures for the youth of America.
